Leigh, David, and Camille gave us a January visit. On the first full day we went to Natural Bridge State Park. For better or worse, we picked the coldest day to go. The first few pictures are going up the traditional trail.
The Park, and the Red River Gorge area in general, is full of textured rock surfaces.
The passage to the top of the bridge.
We took the balanced rock trail back down. This fellow gave the trail its name.
By happenstance, UK played Vanderbilt during the visit. On game day, Leigh, David, Camille, and I walked over the UK campus. To our surprise and delight, Connie had left her wonderful tickets in my office. We hit both bookstores looking for UK paraphernalia.
Unfortunately, Leigh’s phone died after this picture, and we didn’t get pictures of the new Wildcat sculpture and other points of interest. We went by Common Grounds for hot chocolates, Mocha, and Latte.
Before the game, David and Leigh got decals.
And Camille got a full face job.
Gloating after the game.
We stuck around after the game for the interview with the player of the game, Marcus Lee. Marcus signed Camille’s cast as he was going back to the dressing room.
The visit was a blast. There was a spirited baseball game with a stick bat and cardboard bases. David and Camille constructed houses for stuffed animals and dolls from cardboard boxes. They also entertained themselves breaking up Sycamore balls.
